Allen "Shorty" Joseph Schulte

Allen “Shorty” Joseph Schulte, 88, of Old Monroe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital in St. Peters, Missouri. He was born on November 8, 1935, in Old Monroe, Missouri, and was the son of George William and Catherine Caroline (Dreisewerd) Schulte. Shorty was united in marriage to Brenda Creech on September 4, 1965. Shorty attended high school and served his country in the United States Army from 1958 until he was honorably discharged in 1960, during that time he was welder and blacksmith. He liked fishing and hunting. Shorty enjoyed some traveling and was an Old Case Tractor enthusiast. He was always up for looking at rust, which meant old equipment and tools. Shorty didn’t know a stranger and could tell some of the best stories. He was known for joking around with all ages. His witty personality will be missed. Shorty is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Brenda Schulte of Old, Monroe, MO; two brothers: Herbert P. Schulte and wife Louise of Old Monroe, MO and Gene Schulte and his wife, Carol of Old Monroe, MO; three sisters-in-law: Elsie (Mrs. Robert) Schulte of Troy, MO, Elaine (Mrs. William) Schulte of Troy, MO and Carole (Mrs. Jim) Schulte of Winfield, MO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert “Sonny” Creech of St. Ann, MO, Ellen Wright of Wentzville, MO, Jackie Brewer and husband Walt of Lake Saint Louis, MO, Wendell Creech and wife Carol of Midland, TX, Clay “Willie” Creech and wife Karla of Troy, MO, Brett Creech and wife Tracey of Moscow Mills, MO and Mark Creech of Troy, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Catherine Schulte; two sisters: Rita Marie Gilbert and her husband Jay and Mary Lou Schulte; six brothers: Robert J. Schulte, Daniel E. Schulte, Leonard C. Schulte and his wife Diane, William A. Schulte, Edward Schulte and Jim Schulte; two sisters-in-law, Linda Creech and Diane Schulte and one brother-in-law, Tim Wright.
