Amber Gail Stanek

Amber Gail Stanek, 39, of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, surrounded by her family at her residence in Troy, Missouri. She was born on January 3, 1984, in Troy, Missouri, and was the daughter of Jerome “Jerry” Lawrence, Jr. and Karen (Mudd) Zerrer. Amber was united in marriage to Matthew Stanek on August 23, 2005 in Bowling Green, Missouri and to this union two boys were born. Amber graduated from Troy Buchanan High School in 2002 and she continued her education at Missouri Baptist earning a degree in accounting. She worked for Bodine, Abeles and Hoffman PC and Citi as an accountant. Amber liked being outdoors and going for walks with her dog, Bella and her sons. She was always up for an adventure and enjoyed playing disc golf. Amber loved the time she spent with her family and especially around a bonfire. She had a love for Amazon shopping. Amber was her boys #1 fan and was an amazing wife and mother. She was a loving, humble, strong-willed woman, who was stubborn at times, but loved unconditionally. Amber is survived by her husband, Matthew Stanek of Troy, MO; two sons: Bryson Stanek of Troy, MO and Talon Stanek of Troy, MO; paternal grandmother, Mary Jane Zerrer of Troy, MO; siblings: Chelsea Neal (Cassy) of Troy, MO, Karlea Welch (Devin) of Elsberry, MO, Casey Thompson of Troy, MO, Jesse Nix (Katie) of Silex, MO, Morgan Nix of Lake Saint Louis, MO and Daniel Nix (Brittany) of Foley, MO ; aunts and uncles: John Zerrer, Sr. (Brenda, Bill Zerrer (Glenna), Bob Zerrer (Sheila), Mary Jane Marre (Frank), Tom Zerrer (Tonya), Ted Zerrer (Sara), Katy Schormann (Craig) and Clemmy Zerrer, Gail Roberts, Martha Young (John), Ed Mudd (Barb), Theresa Daniel (Richard) and Mary Daniels (Pat); nieces and nephews including: Abel, Nixon, Lolah, Harvey and Duane; cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Mudd; her father, Jerome “Jerry” Lawerence Zerrer, Jr., stepmother: Lisa M. Zerrer; grandparents: Jerome “Jerry” L. Zerrer, Sr., Nick and Carol Mudd and uncles: Joe Zerrer and Jim Zerrer; cousins: John Robert Zerrer, Jr. and Michael Anthony Zerrer. Family and friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at KEMPER-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 351 Monroe Street Troy, MO 63379. A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Kemper-Keim Family Funeral Chapel in Troy, MO.
