Charles "Charlie" W. Kyhl, Jr.

Charles “Charlie” William Kyhl, Jr., 84, of Silex, Missouri fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother of Church on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Villa Theresa in O’Fallon, Missouri. He was born on March 3, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Charles William and Edna (Frank) Kyhl, Sr. Charlie was united in marriage to Nancy M. Donovan on August 2, 2002 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood. Charlie graduated high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and after serving two terms he was honorably discharged on October 12th 1958. He owned and operated Kyhl Plumbing for 35 years and sold the business in 2002. Charlie enjoyed spending time on the water, boating, fishing and the memories made at the River House. He was an outdoor enthusiast who liked deer and turkey hunting and being on the farm. Charlie was an avid reader and some of his favorite books were historical or non-fiction. He was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and St. Alphonsus Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Kyhl of O’Fallon; one son, Mark Kyhl and wife Sue of Gerald; one daughter, Cyndi Marco of St. Peters; step-children: Gail Sykes and husband Chuck, Tracy Kipper and husband Mike, Allen Stephens and wife Janice, Sam Stephens and wife Linda, Richard Stephens, Teresa Stephens, Debbra Price and husband Barry, Mary Kathleen Stephens and James Stephens and wife Laurie; one sister, Mary Jane; many grand-children, great-grandchildren, numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Kim Wormington, one sister, Charlene and his previous wives: Janie Murphy and Frankie Wolfe. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at KEMPER-MILLARD-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel, located at 351 Monroe Street Troy, MO 63379. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church located at 29 St. Alphonsus Rd Silex, MO 63377. Officiating the mass will be Father Chuck P. Tichacek.
