Christina Brandenburger

Christina Brandenburger, 75 of Troy, Missouri, passed away at her residence surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 11, 2013. She was born on August 29, 1937 in Vandalia, Missouri, a daughter of the late Orville and Etta (Storck) Dowell. She was united in marriage to James E. Tipton on November 15, 1955, to this union three children were born and he preceded her in death on June 13, 1968. She later married Gerald H. Brandenburger on August 1, 1970, to this union two children were born and he preceded her in death on March 3, 1984. Christina graduated from Vandalia High School and continued her education at Eolia Technical School. Gerald and Christina were owners of Massey Ferguson and Case Tractor Dealership in Bowling Green, Missouri, she worked nights at Charleswood in Wright City, Missouri and was an administrative assistant for Dr. Kris Brown. Christina later owned Auto Appearance Unlimited, car detail shop in Troy, Missouri, later employed by Creech Brothers as a secretary, a caregiver for the elderly and sick for 25 years and most recent at Stefanina’s Restaurant in Troy, Missouri. She was a member Order Of The Eastern Star, Troy Presbyterian Church and a Youth Group Leader at Farber Presbyterian Church. She was a loving, caring, mother, grandmother and best friend. Christina was hard working mother and held the responsibilities of a father, while raising her children and worked multiple jobs. She taught her family to work hard and never give up and Christina did the same until the end. Christina will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Valerie Miller and husband, Pat of Hawk Point, Missouri, James “Jim” Tipton and wife, Kathy of Troy, Missouri, David Tipton and wife, Margie of Moscow Mills, Missouri, Christina “Christy” Cox and husband, Chris of Troy, Missouri and Tammie Copeland and husband, Chris of St. Louis, Missouri. Eleven grandchildren, Aaron Miller, Sarah Tipton, Keri Tipton, Allison Tipton, Timothy Cox, Caleb Tipton, Brittany Cox, Branden Copeland, Eric Tipton, Reagan Copeland and Hayley Cox; four-great-grandchildren, Darian, Grace, Randy and Alexa, three sisters, nieces, nephews and many friends. Christina was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and her two husbands. Services are private for family. Interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Vandalia. Officiating the service will be Dave Westridge. Serving as pallbearers are Aaron Miller, Timothy Cox, Caleb Tipton, Branden Copeland and Eric Tipton.
