Daisy Juanita Owens

Daisy Juanita Owens, 83, of Wright City, Missouri, went home to the Lord on Saturday, October 26, 2024, surrounded by her family at her residence in Wright City, Missouri. She was born on April 22, 1941, in Wright City, Missouri and was born one of eleven children of Richard and Martha A. (Washington) Owens. Daisy attended Gibson Elementary School in Wright City, Missouri. She had a passion for cooking and could cook just about anything. Daisy was known for her german chocolate cake and homemade ice cream. She dedicated 43 of her life at Davis’s Restaurant and retired with 13 years of dedication at Big Boy’s Restaurant. She was a lifetime member of the Wesley-Smith United Methodist Church in Wright City. Daisy would faithfully attend Church every Sunday and lend a helping hand with Sunday School. With a strong faith in God, she would religiously read her bible and speak the word of God. She liked playing Bingo at American Legion in Warrenton, Troy VFW Post, Wentzville VFW and on KWRE. If you would go over and visit Miss Daisy, you would find time to watch, wheel of fortune or a Hallmark Movie, with her. She looked forward to being outside and supervising the “yard crew.” Daisy was the matriarch of her family and was known as “Aunt Daisy” to many. Her love and words of wisdom will be missed. Daisy is survived by her daughter, Mary Kay Jones and husband Arnold of Wright City, MO; one sister, Susie Dierker of Wright City, MO; one aunt, Daisy Mozee; two brothers-in-law: Clifford Moore of St. Charles, MO and Charlie Edwards of Wright City, MO; grandchildren: Jordan Jones (Jessica) and Keith Dierker; great-grandchildren: Rayna and Khylie; Godson, Kevin Dierker; a host of nieces, nephews including: Pat Hill and The Edwards Family; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, special friends, Donnie and Debra Bishop and many, many other friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Martha Owens and siblings: Willer Mae Day (Arthur), Wilford Owens, Mary Owens, Melba Edwards, Pearl Owens (Marilyn), Irvin Owens, Shirley Moore, Sharon Owens and Paul Owens and a special niece, Kathleen Kiner. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Wesley Smith United Methodist Church located at 29779 Hwy J Wright City, MO 63390. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Wesley Smith United Methodist Church in Wright City, MO.
