Danny "Dan" Joe Davis Sr.

Danny “Dan” Joe Davis, Sr., a beloved resident of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Born on May 7, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, Dan was the son of Gradie Robert and Ruby Bernice (Harris) Davis. He married three times: first to Renee Sontheimer, secondly to Kendra Boone, who preceded him in death, and later to Patricia Montijo with whom he separated but remained very close friends. Dan’s educational journey began at Elm Grove Elementary School, Kirby Junior School, and he graduated from High School from North County Tech, with a focus on auto mechanics. He found immense joy in spending countless hours on the open road, riding his motorcycle. He’d ride as often as he could. Mowing the grass was another passion of his, as we think it reminded him of the thrill of riding his motorcycle. He’d listen to music on his headphones and go for hours, often mowing over the same areas again. Dan possessed an exceptional ability to fix almost anything he set his mind to, particularly small engines, which he took pride in rebuilding. Dan was an avid communicator, often engaging in conversations with his friends over his CB radio, or talking on his cell phone. Baseball always held a special place in his heart. He frequently found himself on the field, umpiring games or coaching. Fishing was another cherished activity for him, especially when spent with his family or friends. Dan is survived by many: wife, Patricia Davis; siblings Tom Davis and Laura Davis; children Erica Sabourin, Kaydi Byington (Allen), Danny Davis, Jr. (Molly), Tiffany Davis, and Dillon Davis; step-children Melissa Carver, Danielle Montijo, and Brendan Montijo; and grandchildren Samantha Witzig (Tommy), Ron, Cameron, Brandon, Riley, Zander, Kendra, Lydia, Airus, Zoe, and Oliver, step-granddaughter Kyra, great-grandchildren Hadley, another on the way, and Delaney. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gradie and Ruby Davis, and his brother, Robert “Bob” Davis, and his son-in-law Ron Sabourin. A social gathering will be held from 4:00pm-8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the National Equestrian Center, located at 6880 Lake St. Louis Blvd., Lake St. Louis, MO 63367.
