David Chris Mennemeyer

David Chris Mennemeyer, 77, of Troy, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on November 15, 1939 in Old Monroe, Missouri, a son of the late Arnold and Anne (Dobelmann) Mennemeyer. He was united in marriage to Barbara Huber on October 21, 1961 at the St. Alphonsus Church in Millwood and to this union three sons and three daughters were born. Dave retired from Creech Brother Trucking as a truck driver after 30 years. He was an avid farmer and spent countless hours working the fields. Dave was a dedicated member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a Knights of Columbus Member in Troy, Missouri. He worked endless hours at fish fry’s, parish picnics, cleaned the K of C in Troy and coordinated the softball teams. In his free time, he liked playing a good game of horse shoes. Dave was never at an idle, but he enjoyed every minute he shared with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Mennemeyer of Troy; three sons and three daughters: Margie Beckmann and husband Dale of Troy, Dale Mennemeyer and wife Joyce of Troy, Virgil Mennemeyer of Troy, Scott Mennemeyer and fiancé Kelly of Troy, Michelle Boehm and husband Alan of Dardenne Prairie and Julie Vermilye and husband Jake of Dardenne Pairie; three brothers and one sister: Ronnie Mennemeyer (Shirley) of Troy, Marvin Mennemeyer of Troy, Verena Mennemeyer Fann of O’Fallon, Lifard Mennemeyer (Grace) of Troy; nineteen grandchildren: Tim, Kurtis, Keith, Brittany, Tyler, Nick, Madeleine, Olivia, Bailey, Brady, Shawn, Abigail, Claire, Jaime, Catherine, Austin, Danielle, Reed and Nolan; four great-grandchildren: Jack, Quinn, Kaylee and Easton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Ed J. Huber (Barb) of Silex, Frances Shramek (Robert) of Belflower and Lenny Huber (Judy) of Texas; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Arnold and Anne Mennemeyer; siblings: Frank Mennemeyer, Ralph Mennemeyer, Urban Mennemeyer, Virgil Mennemeyer, Gregory Mennemeyer, Junior Mennemeyer, Jake Mennemeyer, Arnie Mennemeyer Stanek and Lorene Walker; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ed Huber, Sr. and Lorene Huber. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017 at KEMPER-MILLARD-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel, located at 351 Monroe Street Troy, MO 63379. A catholic mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located 100 Thompson Drive Troy, MO 63379. Interment will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Tom Wissler and Father Don Schramm.
