Donald "Don" Joseph VonDach

Donald “Don” Joseph VonDach, 79, of Hawk Point, Missouri, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the SSM DePaul Hospital in St. Louis. He was born on October 6, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri and son of the late Joseph Benjamin and Evelyn Marie (Hoefelmann) VonDach. Don was united in marriage to Sue LaVallee on February 26, 1982 in Winfield, Missouri. Don graduated from Wellston High School and served his country in the United States Army. He entered on June 24, 1954 and was honorably discharged on December 21, 1956. In Don’s earlier years he worked as a Sheet Metal Worker, an Insurance Agent, a Salesman for Sears and retired as a Bank Teller from People’s Bank and Trust. He was a member of the Hawk Point Lions Club. Don was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially coyote, deer, turkey and coon. He liked watching Fox News and everyone knew not to get him started on politics. Don always put everyone’s needs before his own and loved spending time with his family. He might have been very opinionated but was a very kind, loving and thoughtful man. He is survived by his loving wife Sue VonDach of Hawk Point; four daughters and two sons: Suzanne Mennemeier (Danny) of Old Monroe, Donald J. VonDach, Jr. (Deana) of Troy, Chuck Cobillas (Donna) of Mount Zion, IL, Doreen Meador (Jeff) of Troy, Tracy Bobeen (Ted) of Moscow Mills and Mary Brutton of Savannah, GA; grandchildren: Mick J. Mennemeier (Lauren), Samuel Mennemeier (Jackie Burgess), Ashli Brumberlow, Ryan Meador, Jason Meador, Elly Williams, Amanda Turcotte, Alex Jones,; great-grandchildren: Faith Hartline, Angelica Collese, Jeffrey Meador II, Samuel Meador, Lydia Williams, Julia Williams, Ava Walea, and Tyler Turcotte and three more on the way, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Janis Reichert and one grandson, Charles Cobillas III. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at KEMPER-MILLARD-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel, located at 41 Farm Lane Hawk Point, MO 63349. Funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. with full military honors.
