Elbert Lee Schultz

Elbert Lee Schultz, 70 of Moscow Mills, Missouri, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, surrounded by his family in Moscow Mills, Missouri. He was born on July 23, 1955, in East St. Louis, Illinois, and was the son of the late Henry “Junior” and Beverly (Cheli) Schultz. Elbert was united in marriage to Kennajo Marie Burger on October 29, 1973, in Millington, Tennessee, and to this union, they welcomed one son and one daughter. Over the years, their favorite saying was “Love is, I love you, you love me, and that’s the way it has got to be!” Elbert graduated from Collinsville, Illinois High School and served his country in the United States Navy. He devoted his life to his country from 1973 until he was honorably discharged in 1981. While serving, he was stationed in various places across the country and earned several medals. While living in Texas, he went to work at LTV and retired after many years of dedication. Elbert and Kenna owned and operated Jack Rabbit Quick Stop in Forney, Texas. He was known for his culinary skills and was proud of his Italian heritage. He could grill anything he set his mind to and valued the time with family around the kitchen table. Elbert liked spending time with his wife and family, fishing at various lakes in Texas. He spent many hours watching horse races and going to the track. Elbert was known for trying his luck at the casino and enjoyed playing a good game of hearts. He could tell some of the best stories, well…. Elbert’s version. Elbert was always up for an adventure with his grandchildren and sharing the alphabet game with them. He liked watching Fox News and scrolling on Netflix. Elbert was not only Kenna’s best friend, but also an amazing dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. His big heart and glasses of sweet tea will be missed. Elbert is survived by loving wife of 52 years, Kenna Schultz of Moscow Mills, MO; one son and one daughter: Christopher “Chris” Lee Schultz and wife Melanie of Foley, MO and Beverly Gianni and husband Ross of Troy, MO; grandchildren: Autumn Morgan, Brenden Schultz (Montanna), Hunter Bender, Connor Schultz, Christopher Gianni, Mason Bender and Katelynn Gianni; one great-grandchild, Colt; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his grandfather who took pride in raising him, Mazzini Cheli and his parents. Services will be held at a later date.
