Ernest "Hop" Woolfolk

Ernest “Hop” Woolfolk, 96, of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 in Troy, Missouri. He was born on February 1, 1926, in Troy, Missouri, and was the son of Ernest S. Woolfolk, Sr. and Saloma (Duello) Woolfolk. He was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Taylor on May 21, 1949 in Troy, Missouri and she preceded him in death on March 20, 1991. Hop attended Keelstone School House in Moscow Mills, MO and graduated from Buchanan High in 1944. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1944 until he was honorably discharged in 1946. Hop retired from Cuivre River Electric Cooperative as a Warehouseman with 43 years of dedication. He was a member of the Troy Elks Lodge #2805 and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 2. Hop enjoyed attending Lincoln County Veterans Coffee Talk. He was always up for social hour with friends and family. Hop looked forward to traveling the Mississippi River with his dear friends and later in life he spent many winters migrating to Florida. He truly loved his farm in Moscow Mills and the memories he made there with his family. He is survived by his one son and two daughters: Steve Woolfolk and wife Cathy of Troy, MO, Holly Hammett and husband Roger of Troy, MO and Cindy Collins and husband David of Troy, MO; grandchildren: Missy Henke (Steve), Ryan Woolfolk (Lynn), Jennifer Patterson (John) and Jason Hammett (Jessica Grooms); great-grandchildren: Liam, Owen, Leah, Laney, Sophie, Izzy, Cassidy and Madison; and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two grandsons: Greg Collins and Mike Collins.
