Garry Dan Tipton

Garry Dan Tipton, of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022 in Wright City, Missouri. He was born on August 14, 1945 in Mill Springs, Missouri to Thomas and Nora (Henderson) Tipton. Garry was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Patton on April 22, 1967 and to this union one son and one daughter was born. He is deeply loved by his wife of 55 years, Pat Tipton; his children: Janice Tipton and Gary (Michelle) Tipton: two grandchildren: Austin and Grace; his brother, Mose (Gayle) Tipton; sister, Gwen (Aaron) McGarrity of Poplar Bluff, MO; one brother-in-law, Frank Patton of Florissant, MO, many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and other extended family. Garry was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Opal, Mary, Chester, Charles, Midge, Shirley, Arnold, and Ellis. He was a diesel mechanic and driver for Mack Truck and several other companies. Garry prized education and was proud to complete his GED in 1996. He was a talented guitarist and singer who also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the company of family and friends. Known for being a pot-stirrer, he also had a lifelong knack for playfully aggravating his close friends and family, and seldom missed an opportunity to do so. He also enjoyed spending time tinkering in his garage. Garry was an avid conversationalist who never met a stranger, and was open and welcoming to everyone. He was a faithful follower of Jesus, who lived each and every day for Him. He will be remembered as an upbeat, fun-loving, encouraging guy. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the Troy First Assembly of God located at 432 S Lincoln Drive Troy, MO 63379. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the Troy First Assembly of God in Troy, MO. Officiating the service will be Pastor Mose Tipton.
