Gary David Sharpe

Gary David Sharpe, 86, of Elsberry, Missouri, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the Elsberry Health Care Center in Elsberry, Missouri. He was born on June 18, 1938, in Foley, Missouri and was the son of Roy and Della France (Stonebraker) Sharpe. Gary was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Schuetz on September 29, 1956 in Pemberton, New Jersey and together they had two boys: David and Mark. Beverly preceded him in death on March 24, 2008. Gary graduated high school and enlisted in the United States Army. He was A Company, 3rd Battalion, 9th Infantry, 102 Division and was honorably discharged. Gary has worked as a carpenter his entire life. He retired from Paric Corp with 63 years of dedication and was a member of the Carpenters Local #1875, where he served as past president. Gary was a devoted member of the Mid-America Baptist Church. He taught Sunday School, Children’s Bible Club Teacher and was a part of the Senior Citizen Ministry. He enjoyed The Foley Gun Club. Gary liked to hunt and was a great marksman, even when it comes to shooting toothpicks. He was known as the taste tester and looked forward to eating pumpkin bread. Gary valued the time he spent with his family and was a sweet, kind, loving man. He had a great sense of humor and was always there when you needed him. Gary is survived by his son, Mark Sharpe and wife Laurie; daughter-in-law, Christy Sharpe; grandchildren, Eric Sharpe, Ashlyn Sharpe, MacKenzie Sharpe, Callie Witt and Paige Copenhaver; three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Della Sharpe, one son, David Sharpe, siblings: Vincent Sharpe, Heloise Sharpe-Crenshaw, Gregory Sharpe and Robert Sharpe. Family and friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Mid-America Baptist Church located at 328 Second Street Winfield, MO 63389. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Mid-America Baptist Church in Windfield, MO. Interment will be held at the Star Hope Cemetery in Elsberry, MO.
