Gerald "Jerry" Edward Simpson

Gerald “Jerry” Edward Simpson, 83, of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born to the union of the late Marvin Edward and Lucille Alberta (Kirchner) Simpson on September 21, 1939. Jerry was united in marriage to Donna Kay Bryant on September 21, 1962 in Troy, Missouri. Jerry and Donna committed their lives to one another for over 50 years provided a loving home for their three children. Donna preceded him in death on August 5, 2013. Jerry graduated from Buchanan High in 1957. He served his country in the United State Air Force from May 29, 1957 until he was honorably discharged on May 28, 1963. Jerry was stationed in Germany for a period of that time. Jerry made his career at Cuivre River Electric as a Lineman and retired as Supervisor of Material Management with 38 years of dedication. He was a member of the Troy Kiwanis Club and attended the Calvary Chapel Church in Troy, MO. Jerry was a spry 83 year old and outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting and fishing on his farm. Jerry took great pride in keeping his yard freshly mowed and planting a garden with a variety of vegetables. When all his daily chores were completed he would take time to hop in his Polaris to take a tour of his farm. Jerry looked forward to his morning social hour with the guys at the restaurant and Tuesday night dinners with the group. He valued the time he spent with his family and the memories he made. Jerry is survived by his two sons and one daughter: Scott Simpson and wife Kris of Laverne, OK, Lance Simpson and wife Amber of Troy, MO and Kelly Bone and husband Kevin of O’Fallon, MO; one sister and one brother: Marvel Lea Harvey and Steve Simpson and wife Louise; brothers-in-law: Larry Bryant and Rich Palmer; grandchildren: Tyler Simpson and wife Lacey, Morgan Simpson, Zach Simpson, Samantha Simpson, Drew Millar, Nolan Bone and Reagan Bone; two great-grandchildren: Grace Simpson and the newest addition Henley Kay Simpson; significant other, Renee Korsmeyer; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother-in-law Darrell Harvey and one sister-in-law, Bonnie Palmer.
