Harold "Mick" Lee Mehler

Harold “Mick” Lee Mehler, 82, of Silex, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at his residence in Silex, Missouri. He was born on April 5, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, and was the son of Harold Richard and Alice Marie (Malloy) Mehler. Mick was united in marriage to Mary Jane Klein on November 18, 1967 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood, Missouri and two sons and one daughter were born. Mick worked as a Pepsi Cola Driver for several years and then as a lineman for Cuivre River Electric Cooperative. He founded Mick Mehler and Sons in 1981, the family continues to operate the business. Mick enjoyed the many hours he put in with the employees that became his family over the years. He had a true passion for farming row crops, raising hogs and cattle. Mick was always looking to buy and sell farms any chance he would get. He and Jane spent many hours horseback riding and some of their best memories were made on “vacation” farming in Kirksville. Mick enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, deer and turkey hunting. He was a loving, family man, who valued the time he spent with his family. Mick never knew a stranger and could light up a room with his smile. Mick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jane Mehler of Silex, MO; two sons and one daughter: Danny Mehler (Jennifer Duvel) of Silex, MO, George Mehler (Jennifer) of Silex, MO and Susan Mehler-Henry of Silex, MO; brothers and sisters: Ethel Worthington of Bowling Green, MO, Ruth Ann Crow (Charlie) of Farber, MO, Gerald Mehler (Cindy) of Silex, MO and Debbie Hayes (David) of Mexico, MO; grandchildren: Max Mehler, Michael Henry, Mason Henry, Alivia Mehler and Evan Mehler; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters: John, George, Rosemary, Barb and Vickie. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Millwood Knights of Columbus Hall located at 29 St. Alphonsus Road Silex, MO 63377. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Millwood Knights of Columbus Hall located at 29 St. Alphonsus Road Silex, MO 63377. To honor Mick the family is requesting everyone to wear flannel or Mick Mehler and Sons apparel. Interment will be held in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Millwood, MO.
