Linda Lea Mills

Linda Lea Mills, 77, of Truxton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family in Truxton, Missouri. She was born on September 13, 1940 in New Bloomfield, Missouri, the daughter of the late James and Eva (Stone) Maharg. She was united in marriage to John Marvin Mills on July 27, 1958 in Latham, Missouri at the family homestead and to this union two daughters one son were born: Melissa, Mark and Melynn. Linda went to a one room school house in Latham, Missouri and she graduated High School in Versailles, Missouri. She continued her educated at the University of Missouri where she was on the swim team, met the love of her life and it was all history from there. Later she attended Wentzville Beauty College and graduated in 1980 as a Beautician. Over the years Linda was employed for: Agri Foods, Video Classics and opened her own in home beauty shop. She was on the Board of Trustees for the City of Truxton and she was also a member of the Hawk Point Baptist Church. Linda enjoyed painting, making ceramics, playing bingo, spending time in her big garden growing fresh produce and pruning her flower beds. She enjoyed the horse races, never missing the Kentucky Derby she was often referred to as “Lucky Linda”. But most of all Linda enjoyed and valued the time she spent with her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, John Mills of Truxton, MO; two daughters and one son: Melissa Moran and husband Mitch of Wentzville, MO, Mark Mills and wife Bonnie of Troy, MO and Melynn Bernard and husband Davis of St. Peters, MO; five sisters: Marilyn Barnhart of FL, Leta Mae Higgins of Latham, MO, Anna Marie Bowles of Raytown, MO, Judy Wilson and Shirley Brown of Versailles, MO; three grandchildren: Matthew Moran and wife Charlotte, Joshua Mills, Brittany Mills and husband Lance LaRose; seven great-grandchildren: Maverick, Adaleⸯ, Ronan, MyahLynn, Lukas, Olivia and Alice; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Rosalie Ferguson and Audrey Phillips, four brothers-in-law. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at KEMPER-MILLARD-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 41 Farm Lane Hawk Point, MO 63349. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Hawk Point Chapel. Interment will be held at the Zion Cemetery in Truxton, Missouri.
