Lloyd Thomas Ley

Lloyd Thomas Ley, 79, of Hawk Point, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on January 31, 1943 in Glendive, Missouri a son of Thomas and Lucille (Burg) Ley. He was united in marriage to Janice Rose Hix in November of 2003. Lloyd graduated from Sunnyside Washington High School in 1961. He served his country in the United States Navy serving from July 20, 1961 until he was honorably discharged on July 19, 1965. Lloyd started driving a tractor at 5 years old and continued to farm many years after. He retired from General Motors after many years of dedication. Lloyd was a carpenter, working in various areas in construction. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Troy, Missouri, General Motors UAW Local 2250 and Hawk Point VFW Post 7560. Lloyd liked gardening, working in the yard and using his hand radios. He was talented when it came to wood working, he made several beautiful pieces of furniture. Lloyd was a loving, caring man and everyone enjoyed his presence. Lloyd is survived his loving wife Janice Ley of Hawk Point, MO; one son and one daughter: Tammy Bauer of Wausau, WI and Shawn Ley and wife Krystal Ley of Hawk Point, MO; step-children: Ellis Groo and wife Rhonda, Erick Groo and wife Stephanie, Robert Ramsey and wife Jennifer and Tashina Bakman; five brothers and one sister: Ted Ley (Monica), Connie Carroll (Dan), Bruce Ley (Kathy), Michael Burg, Shane Ley and Lauren Ley (Sara); ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and another on the way, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Katrina Joyce Ley. Family and friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at KEMPER-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 41 Farm Lane Hawk Point, MO 63349. An additional visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Trinity Lutheran Church-ELCA located 23220 North 120th Ave. Wausau, WI 54401. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2022 at the Trinity Lutheran Church-ELCA in Wausau, WI. Interment will be held at Stettin Christian Cemetery located in Wausau, WI.
