Martha Joann Schulze

Martha Joann Schulze, 89, of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, surrounded by her family in Troy, Missouri. She was born on December 4, 1935, in Warrenton, Missouri and was the daughter of Dee Beatty and Martha Grace (Douglas) Sheets. Joann was united in marriage to Charles Raymond Schulze, Sr. on July 19, 1953 at the Methodist Church in Troy, Missouri and to this union two sons and two daughters were born. Charles Raymond Schulze, Sr. preceded her in death on April 5, 2023. Joann moved to Troy with her parents at an early age. Her parents moved about the State of Missouri quite a lot during her early years, living for some time in Warrenton, Troy, Eldon, Blue Springs and back to Troy. Where her father became the Superintendent of the Cuivre Park State Park. After Raymond and Joann were married, they continued their farming operation while living in Troy. Moving back to the family farm in 1955, where they lived in the white house built by his grandfather. Joann took great pride with the family farming. She was always there to lend a hand. There was one occasion where she demolished a nearly new row corn picker by turning too short. She did all of this while keeping up with her housework, keeping the family fed and taking care of four little children. Joann later was a real-estate agent for Cannon Reality and Century 21. She was also a familiar face at Walmart in Troy, MO, where she worked as a cashier. Joann was a member of the Moscow Mills Lions Club. She was an amazing cook who could cook just about anything but was known for her potato salad. Joann’s tell it like it is personality and sarcasm will be missed. Joann is survived by her two sons and two daughters: Charles Raymond Schulze, Jr. of Troy, MO, Pat Martin of Troy, MO, Pam Schulze of Troy, MO and Jerry Schulze and wife Beth of Montgomery City, MO; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Jim Schulze and wife Betty of Troy, MO, Gene Schulte of Moscow Mills, MO and Jackie Schulze of Troy, MO; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Raymond Schulze, Sr.; her parents: Dee Beatty and Martha Grace Sheets; sisters: Dorothy Cox and Mary Perry; brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Johnny Schulze, Alice Gibson and Mildred Schulte; one son-in-law, Gordon Martin and one daughter-in-law, Roberta Schulze. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at KEMPER-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 351 Monroe Street Troy, MO 63379. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the Troy Chapel. Interment will be held at the Zoar Cemetery in Troy, MO.
