Mary Ann Lenk

Mary Ann Lenk of Troy, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 25, 1922 in Old Monroe, Missouri, a daughter of the late John D. and Mary A. (Dreiswerd) Burkemper. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Anthony E. “Tony” Lenk on October 26, 1946 in Old Monroe, Missouri and to this union one daughter and four sons were born. Tony preceded her in death on July 28, 2002. Mary Ann was a homemaker and had the pleasure of helping many parents by babysitting their children. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Ann Sodality. In her earlier years she enjoyed her Monday bowling league and always loved reading. Mary Ann had a true passion for quilting and embroidering which many have had the pleasure of receiving her handy-work. She loved the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren and left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Mary Ann led a simple, unjudging life, but was a wise and hardworking woman who will be greatly missed. Mary Ann is survived by her one daughter and four sons: Mike Lenk and wife Denise of Jefferson City, David Lenk and wife Diane of Troy, Russell Lenk and wife Nancy of Troy, Debra Birkhead and husband Rick of Ocala, FL and Philip Lenk (Linda) of Russellville; two sisters: Alvera Roettger of Troy and Viola Kientzy of Silex; one sister-in-law: Shirley Burkemper of Old Monroe; grandchildren: Brad Lenk (Karen), Lisa Lenk, Amy Ricono (Joe), Aaron Lenk (Denise), Bridgette Kling (Jason), Adam Lenk (Cortney), Jason Birkhead (Amanda), Jordan Cuenin (Ben) and Chad Lenk; nine great-grandchildren: Caroline, Nicholas, Avery, Arianna, Josh, Blair, Collin, Brooke, Maddy and another on the way; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers: Leander, Martin and Ernest Burkemper; six sisters: Olivia Freise, Coletta Reller, Margaret Reckamp, Louise Holthaus, Pauline Reckamp and Della Roettger, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at KEMPER-MILLARD-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel, located at 351 Monroe Street Troy, MO 63379. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 100 Thompson Drive Troy, MO 63379. Officiating the service will be Father Tom Wissler. Interment will be held at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Troy, MO.
