Mary Elizabeth (Pruett) Weckherlin

Mary Elizabeth (Pruett) Weckherlin, 81, of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis. She was born on June 13, 1935 in Rolla, Missouri the daughter of the late Solly and Gwendolyn (Lowery) Pruett. Mary attended the Rolla Elementary School Systems in Rolla, Missouri. Upon completing her schooling she married the love of her life Joseph C. Weckherlin on April 7, 1951 in Pocahontas, Arkansas and he preceded her in death on April 30, 1996. To this union eight children were born. She was a professional housekeeper for many years, working for St. Charles County, MO and later Hussmann Refrigeration in Bridgeton. She was a woman with a strong Christian faith and loved to read her Bible daily. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and making quilts. The items she made with love were donated to various places. With crocheted hats for cancer patients, baby afghans for reservation children, shawls and lap afghans for seniors. Often times throughout her day, she would count her many blessings, hum hymens, say her prayers or talked with the Lord. Mary is survived by four sons and three daughters: William Charles “Chuck” Weckherlin, Sr. and wife Mary of Winfield, MO, Terry Weckherlin and wife Terra of Warrenton, MO, Sharon Waggoner and husband Richard of New Johnsonville, TN, Sarah “Sandy” Johns and husband Mike of St. Peters, MO, David Weckherlin and wife Judy of Warrenton, MO, Larry Weckherlin and wife Toni of Troy, MO and Beth Hill and husband Dennis of Winfield, MO; thirty-five grandchildren, sixty-three great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren and numerous relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph C. Weckherlin, her son, Timothy Weckherlin, three grandchildren: William Charles “Chuckie”, Jr., Christina Isabelle Weckherlin and Isiah Young. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the First Baptist Church located at 2701 Muegge Rd, St Charles, MO 63303. Interment will be held private at Hawk Point City Cemetery in Hawk Point, MO.
