Raymond Albert Sauer Sr.

Raymond Albert Sauer, Sr. 79, of Truxton, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri. He was born on November 17, 1942 in Cook County, Illinois and was the son of Albert and Sarah (Amick) Sauer. Raymond was united in marriage to Nodgie Stewart on September 15, 2007 in Truxton, Missouri. Raymond was an industrial engineer who specialized in mechanical design ranging from display work and product design to tool & die and machine design. Ray was a champion gymnast and rower in his younger years. His lifelong hobbies included building hot rods, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and making custom knives. He excelled at the game of chess and was an expert in the sport of pocket billiards. When Alderman of Truxton, MO, Ray worked tirelessly in the 1990s with the state bureaucracy and engineers to design and install Truxton's central sewer system. Ray’s relatives and friends will miss this soft-spoken man, his sharp wit, and his philosophical humorous comments on life. He was survived by his loving wife, Nodgie Sauer of Truxton, MO; three sons and two daughters: Paul Sauer (Serena) of WI, David Sauer of IL, Kathy Huttner of IL, Raymond Sauer, Jr. (Tiffany) of MO and Janel Koonce of KS; three step sons: TJ Davison of MO, James Davison of MO and Mark Allen (Tammy) of MO; one brother, Eddie Sauer (Maureen) of MO; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Fred Taylor and David Taylor and one step daughter-in-law, Jill Davison. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at KEMPER-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 41 Farm Lane Hawk Point, MO 63349. Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Kemper-Keim Family Funeral Chapel in Hawk Point, MO. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dwayne Hardcastle.
