Robert "Bob" Sylvester Wencewicz

Robert “Bob” Sylvester Wencewicz, 87, of Troy, Missouri, Fortified with the Sacraments Holy Mother of Church, surrounded by love, on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Abbey Senior Health in O’Fallon, Missouri. He was born on April 10, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri, and was the son of the late Sylvester and Frances (Sadlowski) Wencewicz. Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Laverne Rozanski on August 4, 1962 at the Our Lady of Good Counsel and to this union three daughters were born. Bob attended Nativity of Our Lord School and continued his education at Christian Brother College. He served his country in the United States Armed Forces from June 26, 1957, until he was honorably discharged on April 1, 1959. Bob was a dedicated Police Officer with the St. Louis City Metropolitan Police Department for 30 years. He was ambitious to live a full life and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He liked hunting, fishing, and playing a good game of golf. Bob was a proficient marksman and enjoyed the range. He was a man of strong faith, and his family came first in life. Bob knew how to make others laugh and was very witty. He was no stranger to music and could give some of the best advice in life. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Laverne Wencewicz of Troy, MO; three daughters: Lisa Sandhofer (Jeff) of Apex, NC, Deb Lodes (James) of St. Charles, MO and Theresa Smith (Mike) Dardenne Pairie, MO; one sister, Diana Wencewicz of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren: Jesse Sandhofer, Jack Sandhofer, John Sandhofer, Lottie Sandhofer, Joseph Lodes, Grace Lodes, Madeline Smith and Emma Smith; great-grandchildren: Wyatt Lodes, Charlotte Lodes and Lincoln Lodes; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Frances Wencewicz and siblings: Connie Wencewicz and Jim Wencewicz. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, KEMPER-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 351 Monroe Street Troy, MO 63379. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at 458 Main Street Hawk Point, MO 63349. Interment will be held with full military honors at 10:30 am on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery located at 2900 Sheridan Road St. Louis, MO 63125.
