Shelvie Jean Nash

Shelvie Jean Nash, 89, of Troy, Missouri, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 30, 1936, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the daughter of the late Jewell and Elizabeth Louis (Hale) Plunk. She was united in marriage to Richard A. “Coach” Nash on May 26, 1956, and to this union, three daughters were born. Richard preceded her in death on January 28, 2023. Shelvie attended Poplar Bluff Elementary and graduated from McKinley High School. She worked at the Fox Theatre, Emerson Electric, and retired after 30 years of dedicated service with the St. Louis Police Department. Shelvie was an active member of the McKinley Angels and the Athletic Club. She enjoyed bowling, spending time at the lake and pool, and was well known for her wonderful pool parties. Her kind spirit, warm hospitality, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Shelvie is survived by her two daughters, Tracy Nash and Nancy Sohm (Calvin); her sister, Judith Watkins (Gary Bender); and her grandchildren: Tricia Stearn (John), Julianne Tallo (JD Gaddy), Calvin Sohm (Abby), Callie Orf (Justin), Eddie Jameson, and Hope Jameson. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Peyton, Noah, Johnny, Kaiden, Gage, Eastin, Bergen, Maddox, Keegan, Gavin, Caleb, Roland, Mila, and Maddyn; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Nash, her daughter, Kelly Nash, and her granddaughter, Tori Jo Sohm. A social gathering will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Factory on Cherry Street, located at 410 W. College Street, Troy, Missouri 63379. A celebration of life service will begin at 3:30 p.m., with dinner immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society, in care of Kemper-Keim Family Funeral Chapel, P.O.
