Thomas Wayne Finley

Thomas Wayne Finley, 77, of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023, surrounded by his family at his residence in Troy, Missouri. He was born on August 18, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri, and the son of the late Norman Roscoe and Lillian Mae (Layton) Finely. Thomas was united in marriage to Shirley King on November 24, 1978 in St. Louis, Missouri and together they shared four daughters and one son. Thomas attended St. Louis High School before enlisting in the United States Army, as an Engineer, from June 15, 1968 until he was honorably discharged on February 16, 1970, where he was stationed in Korea. He worked various jobs including: Auto Parts Store, maintenance for Jennings Police Department and Corpus Christi School. Thomas retired in 2003 with over 34 years of dedication as a painter with General Motors in Wentzville. He was a member of the UAW Local #2250, where he served as a Committee Representative for over 13 years. Thomas had quite the collection of model cars from over the years. He enjoyed bowling, karate and riding his bicycle across the Katy Trail. He also participated in several bike-a-thons for American Diabetes Association. Thomas liked science, geography, traveling, especially visiting 36 states and keeping up with world news. He loved spending time with his family and making memories along the way. One of his favorite traditions was writing silly messages on the grandkid’s birthday cards. Thomas is survived by his wife, Shirley Finley of Troy, MO; three daughters and one son: Theresa Seemiller (Doug Ochs) of Winfield, MO, Tina Day (Gary) of Troy, MO, Rana Crouch (Aaron Whitten) of Chandler, AZ and Matthew Finley of Troy, MO; grandchildren: Casey Sharp (Heather) of Troy, MO, Megan Ferrell (Alex) of Silex, MO, Abigail Sharp (Milton III) of Troy, MO, Jordan Ferrell (Kaleb) of Hawk Point, MO, Austin Ferrell of Silex, MO, Trinity Sharp (Sierra) of O’Fallon, MO, Alaina Glascoff of Winfield, MO, Evan Glascoff (Madison) of Troy, MO, Elias Crouch (Sierra) Troy, MO, Ryan Dalton (Kaylee) of Winfield, MO, Amelia Crouch of Chandler, AZ, Emmett Crouch of Chandler, AZ and Gacen Finley of Troy, MO; great-grandchildren: Landon, Kashton, Ryker, Taya, Aiden, Ellie, Milton IV, Asher, Adley and two more on the way; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter, Stephanie Marie Finley and brothers: Wray, William, and Larry Finley.
