Wanda Mardella Hutsler

Wanda Mardella Hutsler (nee Scaggs), 89, of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Promenade Senior Living in Richmond Heights, Missouri. She was born on December 5, 1936, in Annapolis, Missouri, and was the daughter of William Jefferson and Clara Ann (Rayfield) Scaggs. Wanda was united in marriage to the love of her life, William Carl Hutsler, on May 3, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri, and to this union, one daughter and one son were born. He preceded her in death on August 25, 2019. Wanda graduated from Annapolis High School. In her earlier years, she worked as an administrative assistant with Tension Envelope. Wanda took great pride in caring for her family and being a homemaker. Being a military wife for 12 years, she was very proud and supportive of her husband's military career. She truly valued the time she spent with her husband and children. She was Team Mother for the Florissant Bear’s Baseball Team; she would provide drinks, snacks, and was their #1 fan. Wanda was a member of the Annapolis Viet Now Organization. Later in life, she was a secretary for Meadow Cemetery. She was a playful and loving grandma and great-grandma. Wanda was kind, gentle, and loving. Her sense of humor will be missed. Wanda is survived by her one daughter and one son: Cindy Lynn Spiess of Manchester, MO and William Jeffery Hutsler (Peggy) of Troy, MO; one sister, Cindy Schultz; one sister-in-law, Audrey Elliott (Ray); grandchildren: Matt Spiess, Chelsea Spiess-Gonzales (Ruben), Shannon Roentved (Cole), Jeffrey M. Hutsler (Colleen) and Emily Rapplean (Anthony); great-grandchildren: Maddox Roentved, Beau Roentved and another on the way, Rayland Hutsler, Levi Hutsler, Reid Hutsler, Elliott Hutsler, Evelyn Rapplean, Calvin Rapplean and Vivian Rapplean, Jaxon Spiess, McKenzie Spiess, Ellie Spiess, Carson Spiess, Mason Spiess, Jordan Gonzales, Zayven Gonzales and Everleigh Gonzales; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Jefferson and Clara Ann Scaggs; husband, William C. Hutsler; three sisters: Eva Toppins, Josephine Stevenson and Loretta Bridges; mother-in-law, Opal Hutsler; father-in-law, Milfred Hutsler; step-mother-in-law, Annie Hutsler; sister-in-law, Gloria Marlett; nieces, Karen Parmeley and Suzanne Toppins; nephew, Gary Bridges; great-nephew, Aaron Bridges; brothers-in-law: Jim Toppins, George Bridges, Frank Stevenson, Al Marlette and Francis Schultz. Family and friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026 at KEMPER-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 351 Monroe Street Troy, MO 63379.
