Dolores Ann Prinster

November 21, 1932 - June 1, 2022

Dolores Ann Prinster, 89 of Elsberry, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. She was born on November 21, 1932 in Wink, Texas a daughter of Clarence and Rowena (Freeland) McGarvey. Dolores was united in marriage to Donald Charles Prinster, Sr. on June 6, 1953 at St. Peters Church in St. Charles, Missouri and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2014. To this union four sons and one daughter were born. Dolores graduated Sacred Heart Academy and continued her education at Harris-Stowe State University, Lindenwood, PIT College and St. Charles Community College. She worked cosmetology instructor for St. Charles Community Beauty College, taught at a parochial school, was a director for Patterson Daycare, a teacher for the Winfield High School and a CNA for Elsberry Health Care Center and Angels on Duty Home Health Care. Dolores obtained her Pilots License at a young age as her family owned and operated the St. Charles Airport. Over the years Dolores was able to experience a lot about life and was able to capture her experiences by publishing several books. She taught Sunday School for various churches over the years. She enjoyed knitting, making afghans and sewing, she was known for making blankets, clothes and stuffed animals for her family. Her proudest moments in life is when she was grandma. Dolores was the most truthful woman you would meet and at times had an onery side, that everyone adored. Dolores is survived by her three sons: Don C. Prinster, Jr. of Camdenton, MO, Daniel Prinster, Sr. and wife Julie of Foley, MO and David “Davey” Prinster and wife Mandy of Troy, MO; one daughter-in-law, Vanessa Prinster of St. Charles, MO; one sister, Mary Theresa Stock; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, a niece, a nephew, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Dorothy Hyde, her son, David Michael Prinster, one great- granddaughter, Lauren Francis.
