George Colin Stiefel, 80, of Texico, Illinois, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehab in Troy, Missouri. He was born on January 7, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Kathleen Browning. George retired after 37 years of dedication at Coca-Cola. He was a member of Chauffer’s in Des Plaines, IL. George enjoyed painting and drawing. He loved to go to church at the Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon, IL. George was a family man, who valued the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known for spoiling his grandchildren every chance he would get and playing ball with them. George is survived by his one son and one daughter: Katrina Stiefel of Christopher, IL and Jason Stiefel (Melissa) of Texico, IL; one step-son, Rodger Riggs (Rose) of Wheeling, IL; one sister, Sara of IN; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Browning, wife, Sharon Stiefel and one son, Chris Riggs. Services will be held at a later date.
