Imagene Briggs Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Imagene Briggs, 89, of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 28, 1933 in Troy, Missouri a daughter of the late Allen and Ruby (Brown) Barnes. Imagene was united in marriage to Howard Briggs on June 14, 1959 in Troy, Missouri and to this union they raised three children. She graduated from Buchanan High in 1951 and to her graduating class she is “dancing with the stars.” She worked at Bessie Mae Dress Shoppe, Carp’s, sold Mary Kay for many years and was primarily a homemaker. Imagene was a member of the St. Stephen United Methodist Church where she was an active member with the Learning Praise Band, teaching Sunday School, making afghans with the Praying Hands Shawl Group and singing in the church choir. She served her community by caring for the elderly. Her family were her world and she enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family looked forward to the holiday trivia games Imagene would spend hours creating. The family events were spent with laughs and fellowship. Imagene crocheted for everyone, with every piece made with love. She had the best sense of humor and was always giving to others. Imagene was woman on a mission and was a loving wife, mom and grandma. Imagene is survived by one step-son, Terry Briggs and wife Vicki of O’Fallon, MO; two daughters: Debb Briggs of Troy, MO and Diane Buerge and husband Kevin of Garden City, MO; one son, David Briggs and wife Angelia of Troy, MO; ten grandchildren: Adrienne, Jeremy, Kristopher, Scott, Trevor, Randi, Jessi, Butterskotch, Dustyn and Noah; nine great-grandchildren: Colton, Wyatt, Wynter, Lukas, Ryker, Kaily, Sami, Abbi and Peyton; one special friend, Mary Jane Gilbert; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one step-son, Jerry Briggs; her sister, Flossie Mashek (Jerry) and two special friends: Louise Peterson and Maggie Green. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Old Alexandria Cemetery located at 87 Old Alexandria Road Troy, MO 63379.
