Linda Ann Barnewolt, 61, of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Linda was born on July 25, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of the late John “Jack” Lee and Dolores Lorraine (Holmes) Diefenbach. She was united in marriage to Tom Barnewolt in Maui on August 11, 1999. Linda graduated from Hazelwood Central in 1976. She opened a jewelry store with her former husband Nicholas Joseph Poetz in 1987. In her earlier years she won several awards for barrel racing with her horse “Lucky.” Linda worked as an office manager for Eco Recycling in St. Louis. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers. She won yard of the month several times in Troy. Linda was a health nut an avid runner, liked working out and eating healthy. She was the matriarch of the family and lived life to its fullest. Linda was the happiest with her family at the house and cooking a good meal. She was an active part of her family’s life, coaching her daughters softballs teams and was a big part of everyone’s youth. According to her girls she was a force to be reckoned with! Linda never knew a stranger and her loving heart will be deeply missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Tom Barnewolt of St. Louis, MO; five daughters: Melissa Ann Phelps and husband Joshua of Old Monroe, MO, Cristen Marie Tucker and husband JT of Silex, MO, Mindy Nicole Morse and husband Shadrach of Winfield, MO, Meagan Lynn Poetz and companion, Adam Kestner of Winfield, MO and Courtney Renae Noble and husband Michael of Titusville, FL; grandchildren: Colin Morse, Avah Morse, Jackson Tucker, William Tucker, Ayden Hamilton, Landyn Phelps, Hallah Noble, Frankie Noble, Lane Strickland, Cadie Strickland, Trevor Moore, Dylan Moore, Raelyn Cruz, Mila Kestner, Sophie Kestner, Blu Kestner and Brodey Kestner; two brothers: Robert “Bob” Diefenbach and companion Carrie Probst of Foley, MO and John Diefenbach and wife Mary Jo of Kansas City, MO, one aunt, JoAnn Swafford; nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Family and friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020 at KEMPER-MILLARD-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 351 Monroe Street Troy, MO 63379.
