Lloyd John Harper Sr.

November 15, 1944 - May 10, 2022

Lloyd John Harper, Sr., 77, of Silex, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, SSM St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born on November 15, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri, and the son of Henry and Dorothy (Naumann) Harper. Lloyd was united in marriage to Phyllis Dykes on July 7, 1967 at the Ferguson Methodist Church and to this union one son and one daughter were born. Lloyd worked as a Welder and Mechanic throughout his life. He later owned and operated Harper’s Metal Salvage where he worked as a Welder and Mechanic and also at CE Power Systems. He was a member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association Chapter O. Lloyd took great pride in taking on old car restoration projects. He was always tinkering in his shop and never went anywhere without a tape measure. Lloyd enjoyed helping Santa for many years spreading holiday cheer to many kids. He never missed an opportunity to drink ice tea and visit with friends. Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Phyllis Harper of Silex, MO; one son and one daughter: Lloyd John Harper, Jr. and wife Misti of Troy, MO and Ginger Arillian Harper of Silex, MO; four grandchildren: Cody (Mindy), Kimberly, Colton and Madalyn; six great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Lillian, Avery, Brayden, Evelyn and Adrian; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Dorothy and Henry Harper, three brothers: Hank Harper, Jim Harper, Patrick Harper, Sr. and Stella Mae “Susie” Harper and one great-grandchild, Connor Harper . Family and friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at KEMPER-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 351 Monroe Street Troy, MO 63379. Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Kemper-Keim Family Funeral Chapel in Troy, MO. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Leukemia Society, in care of Kemper-Keim Family Funeral Chapel P.O. Box 222 Troy, MO 63379.
