Mary "JoAnn" Anderson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

The morning of May 12, 2018 Mary “JoAnn” Anderson, 83, of Troy, Missouri passed away at her residence. She was born on February 6, 1935 in Corso, Missouri on the family farm, the daughter of the late Joseph Robert Shramek and Marie Minnie (Puchta) Shramek. She was united in marriage to James Francis Anderson on November 19, 1955 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hawk Point, Missouri. To this union were added two children: James Robert Anderson and Jan Marie Hester. JoAnn was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hawk Point, Missouri. She worked as a nurse, a seamstress, various positions in manufacturing and retail retiring at age 80. JoAnn was raised on a farm and loved animals, weekends with family, she enjoyed bowling, fishing, horseshoes, playing card games, baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. She is survived by one son and one daughter: James Robert Anderson and wife Renee of Holts Summit, Missouri and Jan Marie Hester and husband LaMar of Troy, Missouri; four grandchildren: Blake Allen and wife Taylor of Enterprise, Alabama; Andrew Hester of Birmingham, Alabama; Kerstin Anderson of New Port News, Virginia; Troy Anderson of Holts Summit, Missouri; four great-grandchildren: Cale Mason Allen, Liam Bennett Allen, Mabry Brooke Allen and Adeline Rose Evans, one sister-in-law Emma Shramek of Hawk Point, Missouri and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Rose Holt (Frank), Virginia Mudd (Jake), two brothers: Raymond Shramek (Carolyn), one twin brother Joseph Shramek and two nephews: Keith Shramek and Larry Holt. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at KEMPER-MILLARD-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 41 Farm Lane Hawk Point, MO 63349. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Chapel. Officiating the service will be Father John Keenoy. Interment will be held at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hawk Point, Missouri.
