Nyoka L. Scott

February 2, 1948 - June 1, 2019

Nyoka Lavinas Scott, 71, of Hawk Point, Missouri, passed away on June 1, 2019 at Phelps County Regional Hospital in Rolla, Missouri, after battling cancer for the past three years. Nyoka or better known as Ny, mom or grandma was born on February 2, 1948 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and was the daughter of the late Harold Leroy and Wilma Lee Fudge. She only had a 3rd grade level of education but she was proud that she taught herself how to read, write, spell and calculate math. Nyoka was known for her outgoing personality, she had a smile that brightened the room. She was so quick to laugh and did it often. Nyoka was a very hardworking woman. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and a great friend, who always put her family and friends needs before her own. Nyoka enjoyed crocheting, sewing, coloring and most of all spending time with family. She also loved her sweet tea, hot dogs and bologna. Although we have great sadness over the loss of our mom, grandma, sister or friend we also have found comfort in her passing. We know she is united with her husband, Walter C. Scott in heaven and they will always be with us. Nyoka is survived by her three loving children: June Ball (George Struckman)of St. Charles, MO, Jay Key Jadwin, MO and Steven Key (Linda Reese) of Wright City, MO; grandchildren: Nick Reese, Tyler Herndon, Steven Key (April Griffith), Brandon Key, Brittany Key (Kevin Ockerhausen), Novalee Laughlin, Kenneth Laughlin and Chloe Struckman; great-grandchildren: Hayden Key and Liam Key; siblings: Connie Wade, Michael Fudge and Katie Fudge, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Scott, mother, Wilma Fudge, father, Harold Fudge and brother, Donald Fudge. Family and friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the KEMPER-MILLARD-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 41 Farm Lane Hawk Point, MO 63349. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at KEMPER-MILLARD-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 41 Farm Lane Hawk Point, MO 63349. Interment will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to The Family of Nyoka L.
