Sherry Lee Ireland, 84, of Wright City, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at her residence, surrounded by her family in Wright City, Missouri. She was born on May 13, 1938 in Warrenton, Missouri a daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Alma Bell (Mitchell) Luckett. Sherry was employed for the United States Government from 1978 until her retirement in 2004 as a Food Inspector. She enjoyed reading, especially anything wrote by Stephen King. Sherry like tending her flower and vegetable garden, where she would can her fresh vegetables. She was known for sewing clothes, dolls and crafting bunnies. Sherry never turned down trying her luck on the slot machines when she would get a chance. She enjoyed being active in her grandchildren’s lives and was always present at family gatherings. Sherry had a true love for her coffee, didn’t matter what time it was, you could always count on her for a cup. She was a tell it like it is kind of lady, who lived life to it’s fullest and loved with all she had. Sherry is survived by two daughters: Vicki Shaw and husband Calvin of Troy, MO and Kim Davis of Wright City, MO; two sisters and two brothers: JT Luckett and wife Marilyn, Bonnie Starkey, Amelia Becker and Mitch Luckett; six grandchildren: Joshua Shaw (Laura), Jared Shaw (Lane), Shawn Shramek (Fran), Nicole Cheek (Graig) Heidi Shramek (AJ) and Katerina Shaw; fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; one daughter-in-law, Peggy James of O’Fallon, IL; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father: Alma and Art Hammond; her father Thomas Luckett; one son, Keith Shramek; one sister, Mildred Darline Leek; one son-in-law, Jerry Davis; brothers-in-law; two four legged friends. Family and friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at KEMPER-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 41 Farm Lane Hawk Point, MO 63349. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at the Hawk Point Chapel. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hawk Point, Missouri.
