Betty Ann Lawson

Betty Ann Lawson, 76, of Silex, Missouri passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015, surrounded by her family at the Silex Community Care. She was born on May 21, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late George T. and Lillian (Nusbaum) Heffner. She was united in marriage to Ronald “Ron” Lawson on January 19, 1957 in Bowling Green, Missouri. Betty attended Silex High School, she was a farmer’s wife and a mother to three wonderful children. She spent many hours working side by side with her husband on the family farm in the fields and helping with the livestock. Betty and Ron cherished the time they shared together. They spent many hours on their wood working projects together, especially their lawn ornaments. She liked spending time in her garden and canning her fresh produce. Betty enjoyed reading books about the Amish and catching up with friends on Facebook. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband Ron Lawson of Silex; her children: Gilbert Lawson and wife Penney of Silex, Kathy Twellman and husband Jim of Lake Saint Louis, Janis Hurt and husband Crew of Silex; siblings: Bill Heffner and wife Maggie of Louisiana, Shirley Wolfenbarger of New Mexico, Fred Heffner and wife Arlene of Idaho, Edward Heffner and Joany of Curryville and Ted Heffner and wife Ruthie of Eolia; six grandchildren: Renee Lawson, Clint Twellman (Emily Harryman), Erin Stroud (Mitch), Jimmy Hurt, Michael Twellman and Jordan Hurt; one great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Lawson-Hoeltge; special friends: Stephanie Schmid-Carroll, Chris Carroll and Kylie Schmid, one sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian, father, George, step-mother, Ruth, one brother, George Heffner, one step-brother, Richard Mooris, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home/Silex Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the Chapel. Officiating the service is Father Chuck Tichacek. Interment will be held at the St. Alphonsus Cemetery.
