George Leroy Creason

George Leroy “Bud” Creason, 86, of Troy, Missouri passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Elsberry Health Care Center in Elsberry, Missouri. He was born on July 6, 1932 in Jennings, Missouri, a son of the late Joseph B. and Catherine G. (Gittemeier) Creason. George was united to the love of his life Alice May Swanson on February 6, 1955 at Hamilton Ave. Christian Church in St. Louis, Missouri and she preceded him in death on February 12, 2010. George graduated from Silex High School in 1950, entered the United States Army in 1952, serving his country in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. He owned and operated Creason Excavating from 1965 until his retirement in 2008. After George’s retirement, he worked for his son Joe at Creason Race Engines, where he received Employee of the Month. He was a member of Mount Zion ARP Church, Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1387 and IUOE Local #513. George had a true passion for flying, especially military and general aviation planes. He designed and made a mock-up of a jet engine. In his younger years he enjoyed racing sprint cars. George took great pride in spoiling his grandchildren, by taking them fishing and on tractor rides. He was a kind, loving man and was no stranger to hard work. He is survived by his four daughters and one son: Jeanell Austin and husband Clint of Ballwin, MO, MaryBeth Creason of Troy, MO, Margie Creason of Troy, MO, Joe Creason and wife Brenda of Troy, MO and Brenda O’Brien and husband Sean of Elsberry, MO; eleven grandchildren: Grant Austin (Robin), Jonathan Austin (Kate), McKenzie Creason, Sean O’Brien, Kyle O’Brien, Tara O’Brien, Bruce Nordwald (Amanda), Greg Creason (Jennifer), Jennifer Feagans (Daniel) Eric Creason and Turia King (Mike); nine great grandchildren: Melaynie Creason, Lincoln Feagan, Parker Feagan, Harrison Feagan, Madison Feagan, Samantha Redding, Breanna Redding, Jarryn Creason and Haylee Nordwald; great-great grandchildren: Marleigh Redding, T.J. Redding two sisters-in-law: JoAnn Creason and Shirley Blumenfeld, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Alice Creason, three grand-children: Katherine E. Creason, Nicholas A. Creason, and Reilly E. O’Brien, siblings: Barbara Uptegrove and Charlie Creason and two brothers-in-law: Sam Uptegrove and Jerry Blumenfeld. Interment will be held at the St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Millwood, Missouri.
