James Arlen Caldwell

James Arlen Caldwell, 79, of Troy, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Delmar Gardens On the Green in Chesterfield, Missouri. He was born on February 22, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri and was the son of the late Clarence and Mary Lee (Saali) Caldwell. James was united in marriage to Dorothy Stanek on October 3, 1970 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hawk Point, Missouri and to this union one son and one daughter was born. James attended Ritenour High School and graduated from Buchanan High in 1966. He served his country in the United States Air Force from January 10, 1966 until he was honorably discharged on November 6, 1969. James retired with 30 years of dedication as a truck driver with Waste Management. He looked forward to spending his Thursday mornings at Veterans Coffee Talk, and he was a member of the Hawk Point VFW Post 7560. James enjoyed deer hunting and fishing in his pond. He was always up for a good drive through the country and had a love for automobiles and tractors. James spent countless hours with his son, Jimmy, preparing their Allis-Chalmers tractor for pulls. He liked spending time with his son and watching the pulls. James looked forward to an evening at home with a cold drink and a cigar in his hand. He valued the time he spent with his family and especially his grandchildren. James never met a stranger and was always there when you needed him the most. He was easy-going and took pride in the extra little details for his wife and family. James is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Caldwell of Troy, MO; one daughter and one son: Dianna Hall and husband John of Kansas City, MO and Jimmy Caldwell and wife Alicia of Troy, MO; three grandchildren: Brooke Hall, Benton Hall and Mary Leigh Caldwell; he was loved by many of his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm on Friday, May 15, 2026 at KEMPER-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 41 Farm Lane Hawk Point, MO 63349. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Kemper-Keim Family Funeral Chapel in Hawk Point, Missouri. Interment with full military honors will be held at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mashek, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Wortmann, Danny Niehoff, Sam Strunk, JP Stanek, John Hall and Benton Hall.
