Joyce Benton Anderson

Joyce Benton Anderson, 96, of Moscow Mills, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the family farm at Owen Station in Moscow Mills, Missouri. She was born on August 29, 1924 in Moscow Mills, Missouri the daughter of the late Casper Owen, Sr. and Helen Benton (Hill) Anderson. Joyce attended Crab Apple Grade School in Moscow Mills, Missouri and graduated from Buchanan High in 1942. She was an active member of the Moscow Mills United Methodist Church and Elizabeth Wilkinson Club. Joyce retired from Famous Barr. She liked embroidery, cross stitching and working puzzles. Joyce worked the Lincoln County Elections polls for many years. She was the family historian and was very knowledgeable with the history of Moscow Mills. Joyce really enjoyed talking to people and was “Aunt Joyce” to many. Joyce was a very proud lifelong resident of Moscow Mills. She is survived by her one nephew and one niece: Thomas Owen “Tom” Anderson of Moscow Mills, MO and Elizabeth Benton “Libby” Anderson of Indianapolis, IN; sister-in-law, June Witte Anderson of Moscow Mills, MO; cousins, close friends and her church family. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Casper Owen, Sr. and Helen Benton Anderson and one brother, Casper Owen “C.O.” Anderson, Jr. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021 at KEMPER-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 351 Monroe Street Troy, MO 63379. An additional visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Moscow Mills United Methodist Church located at 703 Main Street, Moscow Mills, MO 63362. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 24, 2021 at the Moscow Mills United Methodist Church in Moscow Mills, MO. Officiating the service will be Pastor Mark Spence.
