Lenny Paul Pitzen

Lenny Paul Pitzen, 76, of Hawk Point, Missouri, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at his residence in Hawk Point, Missouri. He was born on October 25, 1947, in Osage, Iowa and was the son of the late Clem and Marion (McCarthy) Pitzen. Lenny was united in marriage to Susan Kay Yaeger on May 20, 1972, at the St. Francis Church in Rochester, Minnesota and to this union two daughters and one son were born. Lenny graduated from Visitation High School in Stacyville, Iowa. He worked as a CSA for Ozark Airlines, TWA and American Airlines for over 35 years. In his earlier years, he spent countless hours as a scout leader and coaching little league teams. He liked riding 4-wheelers and snowmobiles with his family. Lenny was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus, North End Racing Pigeons and Iowa Hawk I-Club. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and was known for growing anything with his green thumb. Lenny had a passion for his birds. He had several purple martin colonies and raised racing pigeons. Sue and Lenny were their grandchildren’s #1 fan as they would attend all their school and sporting events. He valued the time he spent with his family and looked forward to spoiling his grandchildren. Lenny loved his family with all he had and always put his family and God first in life. Lenny is survived by his loving wife, Sue Pitzen of Hawk Point, MO; one son and one daughter: Michael “Mike” Pitzen and wife Jamie of New Bloomfield, MO and Julie Pitzen of Jonesburg, MO; siblings: Chuck Pitzen and wife Emilie, Tony Pitzen and wife Sherry, Mark Pitzen, Leo Pitzen and Ann Williams; grandchildren: Parker Pitzen, Jace Pitzen and Gabe Pitzen; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Margie Pitzen; siblings: Andrew Pitzen, Mary Pitzen and Richard “Dick” Pitzen and one brother-in-law, Rick Williams. Family and friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024 at KEMPER-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 41 Farm Lane Hawk Point, MO 63349. Funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at 458 Main Street Hawk Point, MO 63349. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hawk Point, MO.
