Mike Cannon

Mike Cannon, 69 of Troy, MO passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2024. Mike was born on October 20, 1954 as the oldest son of Harold and the late Kathy Cannon. Mike and his brother, Monte were raised in Troy, Missouri as the only two children of Harold and Kathy, but their family circle was large with a close-knit extended family. Mike and Monte grew up understanding the importance of hard work, the value of a dollar, and their home was one of the most gracious and hospitable spaces in Lincoln County. Mike attended school in Troy and graduated from Troy Buchanan High School in 1973. Upon graduation he went on to attend college at State Fair Community College and the University of Central Missouri. Once he graduated from college, he began working alongside his dad in the family business. A pivotal moment occurred in Mike’s life when he met and married the love of his life, Pamela Pendelton. To this union, two children were born, Carrie and Cale. While Carrie and Cale are their only biological children, Mike and Pam opened their hearts and home to many young adults throughout his lifetime. Mike’s strong work ethic served him well through the years. He alongside Monte and other members of the family have grown Cannon Companies which was founded by their father, Harold in 1954, into one of the largest providers of construction, developments, real estate, excavation, and investments in Lincoln County and surrounding areas. Described best as having the “heart of a lion,” Mike worked tirelessly to provide for his family. Working daily alongside his brother, son, son-in-law and nephew, he drove thousands of miles annually to bid jobs and grow the company. Mike and his family were also philanthropists in the Lincoln and St. Charles communities. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, watching drag races, and Lake time with his family. Mike leaves behind his wife, Pam, daughter Carrie and her husband Steve; a son, Cale and his wife Kim; three grandchildren, Dane Darnell, Dallis Darnell and Dylan Cannon; father, Harold Cannon; brother Monte and wife Janet; brother-in-law Dale Pendelton and wife Mary and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Cannon. Family and friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at the First Christian Church of Troy located at 1302 Boone Street, Troy, MO 63379. A Celebration of Life will follow at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at the First Christian Church of Troy.
