Richard Kieth Evans

Richard Kieth Evans, 70, of Hawk Point, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 12th, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on May 14, 1948 in Oakridge, Missouri, the son of the late “Casey” Richard Floyd Evans and Virginia Audrey (Matthews) Phillips. Richard was united in marriage to Marilyn Kay Hackworth on December 30, 1968 in St. Louis County. Rich enjoyed time with his family between road trips as an over the road truck driver with Buckeye International (formerly Davies Young Company) for 35 years. When time allowed he loved to take his boat out to fish, work on cars, play golf and spend time with his family. He was a role model for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with special talents of story telling, teaching life lessons and fixing things. Rich loved baseball especially the St. Louis Cardinals. Richard is survived by his wife Kay Evans; one sister, Anne Pobst (Gary); four children: Larry Evans (Mary), Denise Johnson (Randy), John “Tony” Evans (Kim Costa) and Lisa Hoffmann (Scott); eleven grandchildren; Robert “Bobby” Evans (Kristin), Richard Evans (Alicia), Jared Johnson (Nancy), Jami Tinker (Jason), Justin Johnson (Ashley), Becky Merkel (Mike), Amanda, Libbi and Cameron Evans, Raelyn and Dalton Hoffmann; seventeen great-grandchildren Mick, Tessa, Hank, Owen, Reese, Max, Kennedy, Willow, Jason, Payton, Fisher, Tucker, Reghan, Harper, Kaden, Reagan, Adalynn and expecting another in May. He was a father figure for his niece Michele “Shelly” (Roth) Ferguson and Tanya (Boddy) Wellman as well as many other family friends. He was loved by many, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Casey and Virginia, one sister, Sherry and one great-grandson, Lane. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at KEMPER-MILLARD-KEIM Family Funeral Chapel located at 41 Farm Lane Hawk Point, MO 63349. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Chapel. Interment will be held at the Hawk Point City Cemetery.
