Skyler James Woods-Botkin

Skyler James Woods-Botkin, 19, of Moscow Mills, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Truxton, Missouri. He was born on December 31, 2001 in Maryville, Illinois, son of Justin R. and Meghan E. (Woods) Botkin. Skyler graduated from New Horizons High School in Troy, MO in 2020. He worked as a laborer for CMS Homes in Troy, MO. Skyler always made sure his brother and sister was taken care of. He liked gaming with his brother and keeping his mom and dad on their toes. Skyler was always up for an adventure. Some of the best memories were made fishing, camping, swimming and just spending time with family and friends. He loved his four-legged friend, Rosco. Skyler was caring, had the biggest heart, and his enthusiasm for life will be missed. He is survived by his mother and father: Justin R. and Meghan E. (Woods) Botkin of Millstadt, IL; one brother and one sister: Kobe R. Botkin and Jordann E. Botkin (Landon Strus) of Millstdadt, IL; girlfriend: Brooke Hammond of Moscow Mills, MO; maternal grandparents: Mark and Rachel Woods of Fairview Heights, IL; paternal grandparents: Karen and Bruce Behrens of O’Fallon, IL and Richard Whetstone of Shiloh, IL and Elizabeth “Bethy” Botkin of Belleville, IL; great-grandparents: Helen O’Guin and Andrew Easton; aunts and uncles: Valerie Woods (Christopher Lanxon), Calvin Botkin (Lauren Martin), Kevin Woods, Connor Whetstone (Madison Dallas), Zac Whetstone (Kara Burke), Alex Grawe (Ryan), Jack Brooks (Amber Roth) and Tyler Brooks; cousins, including: Nellie, Tayler, Tyson, Trey, Chandler, Everett, Elizabeth, Kaylee, Khoi, Krue, Kyleigh, Adelynn and Jack V and many friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Debra Ann Simunich-Woods; paternal grandfather, Robert Botkin, Jr and great-grandparents: Robert, Sr. and Zelma Botkin, James and Loraine Woods and Daniel and Fern Simunich.
